Bluetooth & 4G connectivity
Bluetooth when you're with the bike, 4G when you're not — so the app still reaches it from the office or the café. Out of mobile coverage? Connect over Bluetooth and you keep app control.
Firmware updates
Improvements arrive through the app, so the bike keeps getting better after you buy it.

02 — Connect your bike
Seven taps to connected.
- 1Download the Ampd Bros GO App from the App Store or Google Play.
- 2Create an account and log in.
- 3Tap Settings.
- 4Tap Add bike.
- 5Tap Add device.
- 6Scan the QR code on the side of your bike, near the battery. There's also a copy in your starter bag.
- 7You're connected.
First connection can take a moment
Your bike's IoT controller has its own small battery, charged by the bike battery while the bike is switched on. With the bike off, it lasts up to 24 hours. If it goes flat, the bike may not be trackable or controllable in the app until it recharges — you can still ride normally.
Bluetooth pairing
Pair your phone to the bike over Bluetooth to skip start-up passwords, if you've set them.

After the included period, ongoing connectivity is available for a yearly fee from us, or you can use your own provider. Prices on request, as service charges change regularly.
Why a fee? Live tracking needs a SIM card with a paid mobile service. We keep it as low as we can.

Which bikes work with the GO App?
The GO App is included on ACE Adventure, ACE PRO, ACE-X Demon S5 Dual and Taipan. On ACE Mini models it's optional, when ordered with App Connect.
Can my older ACE be updated to work with the app?
No. Older ACE generations use different components across the bike, including the battery, controller, display software and wiring, so they can't be updated for app compatibility.
Do I need a data plan for 4G?
Not for the first two years — connectivity is included free with your bike, with up to 50 MB of commands per month — more than enough for typical everyday use. After that, keep it going for a yearly fee from us, or use your own provider. Prices are available on request, as service charges change regularly.
Can I use the app without mobile coverage?
Yes. Out of coverage — say, riding somewhere rural — connect to your bike over Bluetooth and you'll still have app control. Map tracking won't update until the bike is back in an area with mobile service. You can also ride the bike without the app at any time.
Why can't the app find my bike after it's been parked a while?
The IoT controller runs on its own small battery, charged while the bike is switched on. With the bike off it lasts up to 24 hours. Switch the bike on to recharge it and the app will reconnect.
Can I ride without the app?
Yes. If the app can't reach the bike, you can still ride normally — you just won't have app control until it reconnects.
What does Bluetooth pairing do?
Pairing your phone to the bike over Bluetooth lets you bypass start-up passwords, if you've set them.
